What is a home inspection?

The inspection takes approximately three hours, with our inspectors visually investigating and thoroughly detailing all data relevant to the site, property and neighbourhood.

Where accessible, a typical inspection process involves the following:

  • A drain tile test under pressure performed for approximately 45 minutes
  • The main structure investigated for integrity, previous fire damage, insulation levels, proper ventilation, and moisture damage
  • Exhaust systems, humidity levels, security, safety, general comfort and liveability checked inside the home.
  • Interior finishing, design, layout and functionality are also considered and reported on if requested.

  • All plumbing fixtures, shutoffs and lines, electrical fixtures, outlets, service panel and service entrance supply lines are inspected for condition and operation.

The comprehensive checklist and narrative report will be delivered within 24 hours, in addition to any on-site commentary.

A home inspection and the report is a finding of the condition of the home on the day of the inspection.  It is not a warranty or guarantee of any kind.
